This limited edition wine is a tribute to John Devoy (1842-1928), who was convicted of treason in Ireland and sent to prison. After serving his sentence, he was exiled in 1871 and forced to start a new life in America. There Devoy became the mastermind behind the most daring prison escape in Australian history, the Catalpa rescue, freeing six fellow Irish prisoners.
Medium garnet hue. Bold aromas of coffee, chocolate, and vanilla frame a ripe and black fruit core. Round, forward fruit quickly combines with stout and forward tannins for a full, toasty body that leads to a long, savory, and satisfying finish.
